Bargello done....

This quilt has taken me such a long time to make. It was started in a twisted bargello workshop ( I can't remember the exact date so it is ages ago) I have worked on it at craft on a tuesday night with our UFO/ PHD group. ( I think that the ladies at craft will also be glad to see the end of it also)
So thanks to the UFO/PHD ladies it is finished!!

Not sure why the text at the top of the page is all underlined. (crazy computer!!)

Gift Card Idea!!

Here's an easy idea....create a pocket onto your card to place a gift card.
Now who wouldn't love to receive one of these. I will be making these for those hard to buy for nephews in our family.(teenage boys!!) I cranked up the sewing machine to make the pocket on the card. I had lot's of little scraps of Christmas papers leftover from making my Christmas cards and decided to use some of them up with this quick idea. Attach a sticker and embellish!!

Here's a close up.

Since we have been getting lot's of rain....K decided that it would be a good idea to have a mud bath.... needless to say she now has glowing skin!!

Black and White plus One Challenge...

For the “Black and White plus one” challenge I decorated a ribbon holder. These come packaged as 6 pieces of wooden cut-outs that join together to make the box. Some of the wooden edges were painted and some covered with paper. On the top I painted the chipboard letters and applied a glossy top coat. The flowers were hand made from orgnaza (well that is what I will call it), the edges of the flowers were held over a flame to melt them into a petal shape. Then the rest was easy….just add some buttons, bling and ribbons (or as we say in the scrapbooking world….embellish!!).

My second crafted item is a button teacup. This one was inspired by the black and white beads. (That once upon a time were a very chunky necklace) Buttons and beads are wired together and held in the cup with hot glue and florist foam.

I have also created a scrapbooking page using a black, white and brown colour theme. The bark on the tree in the photo inspired the colour scheme.

I have enjoyed doing this challenge very much. It has taught me that any colour looks great with black and white!! I do like to use lot’s of different BOLD colours to craft with so this has made me craft outside my little box. Thanks for some fun!!

Christmas Cards.

I am getting very excited as tonight our craft group do the BIG reveal.....The Black and White plus One challenge gets revealed tonight at craft. I will post my challenge entries very soon. So as for now you will have to settle for some Christmas cards. I have tried with these 2 cards to use up some scraps of paper and have also tried to layer the cards. It is a little hard to see in the pictures but in some places the card has 4 layers.

The bottom card is not made with Christmas papers.

You can do anything with a little imagination!!!

That's all for now

Happy Crafting

Challenge Papers by Brooke

Well I hope everyone is sitting down, cause I have been scrapping. I finally did my challenge papers, but settle down I still haven't done the recipe cards (sorry!!!).

With my challenge I decided to do a concentina album so have a look below I have put some piccy's. I missed the last workshop, I had to take my boy away to have his tonsils out and you know it has been so peaceful, but I think he is getting better because he is back to his old self.

This the front cover

Close up of the flowers

Inside front cover

Inside back cover

This one isn't very clear but this the album opened up

Anyway I also had to do secret santa for a savings site I am a member of so we couldn't spend any money so I made a concentina album for that as well. It is still a work in progress so I have just shown the cover let me know if this is ok for a secret santa pressy.

I can't wait to see everyone elses challenge papers.

Till next time

Album for Mum and Dad

I have mentioned that I was going to scrap an album for my parents of our recent holiday together. I have started this project and have made a good start on the album, I am hoping that it will be finished for Christmas. I have tried to also incorporate relevant photos to Dad's days in Vietnam. Enjoy and be inspired to keep the memories.

Christmas stock just arrived....

JUST IN.......I loved opening up this parcel of goodness.!!!!! It was such fun thinking about all the things I could make and do. (Just need some more time.)
Aren't these flowers in such bright colours. I think they would match the bright papers below well.

Aren't the reindeer soooo cute.......

Below are 3 of the 6x6" paper packs that we have in. I have made some Christmas decorations with the paper pack on the right.

These sticker sheets match the paper pack above on the right and the trinkets above, all BoBunny brand.

I finished another bright paper challenge. It is inspired by a quilt that Debra made from stripey material. It just goes to show that inspiration is everywhere. Have a look at Debra's quilt over here. I have hand drawn the lines on the background at the top of the card.

Ruby

Isn't Ruby just gorgeous. She is much older now ( I am very behind with all my scrapping) but she's just as cute.
I have used bazzill as the base card, basic grey papers and rub on's, buttons, walnut stain distress ink around the edge of all papers, ribbon, funky flower punch and painted chipboard letters.

Bright Challenge Project

Here is a recent addition to the bright paper challenge that was given to me last night. It is a cute little tree covered in the bright papers. On the reverse Debra has covered it in some Christmas papers so that it can be displayed all year. Love the ideas and thanks for joining us for this challenge.
